This transformation reflects the integration into the MUSC Health network and its commitment to providing world-class cancer care to Orangeburg, Calhoun, Bamberg and surrounding counties,

The alignment with Hollings Cancer Center, the state鈥檚 only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer center, expands access to innovative treatment options, trailblazing research and unparalleled expertise.

As part of Hollings Cancer Center, rural areas like those served by MUSC Health-Orangeburg instantly tap into a network of resources, expertise and advanced technology. Patients gain access to cutting-edge treatments, clinical trials and specialized care previously unavailable locally. Telemedicine and outreach programs can extend the reach of Hollings鈥� services, providing remote consultations and support to patients outside the Charleston area.

Responsible for staffing the center and the medical practices and clinics that support the region, MUSC Health-Orangeburg鈥檚 executive director of ambulatory operations, Echo McAlhany, sees additional benefits of the rebrand.

An event commemorating this milestone and honoring the service and commitment of the center鈥檚 former namesake, H. Filmore Mabry, M.D., is planned for later this summer.
